Today is Día de Canarias (Canaries Day), the annual event and local holiday, which celebrates "Canarianess" and remembers the anniversary of the first session of the autonomous Canary Islands Parliament, which took place on May 30th, 1983. Here a group of school children, dressed in typical Canarian costume celebrate Canaries Day typically with music and dancing. Parents and friends were also treated to the free lunch of fresh tuna in sauce, gofio and potatoes, produced by a group of mothers and, very nice it was too! See where this picture was taken. [?]
