A shop window in Icod de los Vinos displays what are ever more like junior wedding dresses for girls and, psuedo-military style suits for boys to wear at their First Communions, which are a regular phenomenon of the month of May. These events appear more and more like mini-weddings, with an average cost of around 3,000 Euros (as of 2006) and, which strains many a family budget.
