Looking Down Esteban de Ponte Street

We're staying in Garachico and here we are looking down the street, Calle Esteban de Ponte. We met Cristóbal de Ponte, the man who founded Garachico. His sons were Bartolomé and Pedro, so Esteban de Ponte must have been a later descendant, who obviously did something notable to get a street named after him.
