P&O Cruises' new Grand Class cruise ship, the MS Azura, made her first visit to the port of Santa Cruz de Tenerife yesterday with 3,000 British passengers on board.
Sister ship of MS Ventura, the MS Azura, which only left the Fincantieri shipyard in Italy in March, undertook her maiden cruise last month.
As is the tradition on these first visits, the Port Authority made a presentation and a gift of Malmsey wine to Captain Keith Dowds to mark the occasion.
The MS Azura is not the only ship making a first visit to Santa Cruz in the near future. By the end of the month, first visits will have been paid by "Adventure of the Seas", "Azuka" "Noordam" and "Westerdam"; the first of which will be arriving on Monday, May 10th, for ship spotters who fancy a day out in the capital.
