Sand Carpet

Partial view of the sand carpet that was presented as part of the events for the third centenary of the volcanic eruption in Garachico. These carpets are made every year for the festival of Corpus Cristi in La Orotava and a similar carpet was made recently in San Antonio, Texas, by the same alfombristas (carpet makers) as part of the celebrations of the 275th Anniversary of the founding of that city by 16 Canary Islands families.
